Delicious in Dungeon #51: Hot Succubus Milk

A succubus can become whatever you most desire to seduce you, it's pretty dangerous...

What am I into? Well that's a very personal question. You know, normal stuff.. not weird.

Since the ingredients are milk and "a mysterious white powder", I initially was going to use sugar.. but.. i happen to have some instant white hot chocolate powder that I think is pretty mysterious. Well, not that mysterious.. the ingredients are listed on the back.

Instead of simmering it on the hob I'm taking the easy road and blasting it in the microwave.

Once the milk is hot, I will stir in a bit of the white powder.

***

It's very sweet and cocoa butter-y. I guess its what I would imagine a fresh, full-fat monster milk would be like. This instant drink is designed for hot water, so its a bit overkill. On some days it hits the spot, other days its a bit sickly and I'd prefer the bitterness of regular chocolate.

Delicious in Dungeon #23: Orc Medicine

Hmm I need a pick-me-up after all that dragon battling... perhaps i need some medicine...Orc Medicine!

Dr. Roy M.D. has got us some secret special ingredients.. or just random junk, not sure.

Gonna grate a bit of the ginger, obviously not the whole thing. My concept for this was sort of like a ginger shot and a greens smoothie all rolled into one. A shootie. (hmm needs work)

So yeah dont worry its all edible, its sunflower seeds, spinach leafs, ginger, spirulina powder and a pinch of turmeric.

And a dash of water! so that it... actually blends.

That was fast, looks ready to go I guess. Lok-Tar Ogar!

*

It's giving wet leaves... with a side of choking hazard (bits of seeds) and a fiery aftertaste. I hope this is good for me. Emotionally speaking it is not. In the future I might stick to tea and vitamins.

Stardew Valley #75: Ginger Ale

  Ingredients: Ginger, Sugar

Item Description: A zesty soda known for its soothing effect on the stomach.

Got some fresh ginger, some sugar, and fizzy water. And that right there is my juicer attachment for my blender.

Peeling the ginger so we just get to the juicy bits.

blending it and then infusing it with a bit of the water. Looks like plenty of ginger is coming through based on how cloudy it looks.

Now we just have to keep adding sugar until it tastes sweet, and mix it well.

Then we can top it up with some ice and more water! Is this how you make ginger ale? I didn't look it up.

**

It's not bad, but... it's not great. Somehow its fiery, woody and acidic... but not as refreshing as I expected. I'm quite fond of ginger ale/beer even the cheap store brand ones so I guess its just harder than it seems. I can really taste the carbon bubbles of the spring water for some reason. I wish i had bought some cheap lemonade and mixed it with that instead. Or maybe its not a great drinking ginger. I dunno.

Stardew Valley #63: Cranberry Candy

Ingredients: Cranberries, Apple, Sugar

Item Description: It's sweet enough to mask the bitter fruit.

Cranberries, Apple, Sugar. It really is just that! And I'm going to attempt to use my juicer attachment for my multi blender thing. I've never used it before. I've never even made a juice before. This will be educational.

Stop me if im wrong, or dont actually because this is probably still a good idea, but I believe you should always cook cranberries if you plan to eat them? I dunno why though, but it should make them tender and easier to juice anyway so lets.

Oops that was fast! In my mind cranberries are hard and I expect them to take ages, like beans... but they do not take long. It also looks like they really spilled their guts into the water, so we should probably keep all that liquid for our juice.

Hey, while its all hot, maybe this is a good time to add the sugar? I'm just going to eyeball it, i kinda want to add less sugar than they typically do in commercial beverages, but its called "cranberry candy" not "cranberry torture" so probably a generous amount.

After leaving it to cool for a few hours, its ready to go into the juicer! It looks like im using this correctly, and we're already seeing some nice filtration results before we've even done anything.

Now we can add the other ingredient, a couple raw apples! Im cutting them into thin slices so that they can reach the blade at the bottom and get blended into the drink.

Look at that! It's really quite thick, I guess we could have added more water... but... ive already filled this jug. Smoothie it is.

And theres a few chunks left that wouldn't filter through. I guess its all technically edible. It looks like tomato sauce. This would make a wretched pasta dish. I guess I should just eat it later (not with pasta).

****

Wow I think I did well! The apple really rounds out the flavour and it's sweet and bitter, but not overwhelmingly so. There's not a lot I can do with cranberries that makes them especially desirable to me, but you know what? This is probably the best thing I can think of. I think I like this better than store bought cranberry juice. Also it feels like I've gotten 6 of my 5-a-day now.

Stardew Valley #51: Triple Shot Espresso

Ingredients: Coffee x 3

Item Description: It's more potent than regular coffee!

It's been a few weeks, because I insist on doing these in order. I was just going to make a strong filter coffee, but my family were due to visit me and I know for a fact they have surplus of these classic italian stovetop espresso makers, aka the Moka Pot! So I offered to look after one. They also brought me a brick of fine ground espresso coffee, but they all drink decaf so its decaf. Sorry. I don't really notice the difference anyway.

First things first, its probably been gathering dust for a while so lets make sure its clean... looks like it actually is very clean already. Thanks mum!

Next, I looked up how to use it... they recommend actually starting with hot water, which seems efficient as a heavy electric-kettle user. We fill it up to just below the valve.

Then we pop on the filter section and fill it up with coffee. It's hot so im also going to use oven gloves to screw the top half on tight. And to the stove!

Oh, don't mind me, im just casually making some delicious thai red curry on the side while I do this recipe... oops is it clearly quite deliberately framed in the shot? how careless and modest

Once it starts "gurgling" its apparently good to go. But wait... this recipe doesn't say SINGLE shot espresso now does it?

****

Normally I like my coffee all milked up, but for this recipe im going to attempt to enjoy it all puritanical style. It's bitter. But... also very flavourful and dark-chocolate-y. I'm of the opinion that the best coffee comes from moka pots and for a first try this feels pretty consistent with that. It would have probably got 5/5 if I put milk and sugar in it. And it would probably be "more potent than regular coffee"... if i didn't use decaf.

Red curry! what are you doing here!? Stop flexing your deliciousness!

Super Paper Mario: Saffron & Dyllis Super Show #47: Weird Extract

This WeIrD eXtRaCt is made with PEACH JUICE and HOT SAUCE. Yeah I guess thats a bit weird.

I've got peach juice, I've got a jalapeno based hot sauce, and i've got a bit of extra chilli flakes to seal the deal. I don't have a crazy flask and its not gonna be green. I kinda wanted to do like a bloody mary type thing? but I didn't have celery to hand so i've included a carrot stick. Weird juice.

What we have here is peach juice that makes the back of your throat feel really hot.

Super Paper Mario: Saffron & Dyllis Super Show #44: Dayzee Syrup

Dayzee syrup is made from DAYZEE TEAR

Dayzee tears seem to come from flower enemies resembling daisies, so i'm going to go with a pretty decent approximation - the chamomile flower!

These extra fancy tea bags have masses of whole chamomile in them. And since "syrup" is in the name we're adding a generous teaspoon of syrup. It's for science of course!

**

Definitely not a mug of wee. Strong and sweet. Tastes like pollen. Tastes like a big mug of flower jizz.

Super Paper Mario: Saffron & Dyllis Super Show #43: Gradual Syrup

Gradual Syrup is made with LONG LASTING SHAKE and PEACHY PEACH

What's a long lasting shake? I dunno but how about an energy drink? And we've got more of that peach juice.

What if I want to make it pink like the sprite? I could add a splash of this raspberry syrup couldnt I

OK that is not pink. Its pink-er?

***

This is really nice! Well for the first few sips... and then you just realise its the sickly chemical hypersweetness of the energy drink and you're not getting much else. Was I long lasting? Was I gradual? WAS I EVERYTHING YOU NEED YOU BETTER ROCK YOUR BODY NOW
