Cooking Mama's Cooking Challenge #68: Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl

But which comes first? The rice actually.

Cut!

Done about 2 thigh fillets.

Chop up!

Onions sliced into thin strips.

Make stock!

We make the same weird mix as the last recipe: dashi stock, sugar, soy sauce, mirin, sake.

Break an egg!

Last time we just did 1 egg, but im feeling like 2 might have been better after all so we'll try it this time.

Beat an egg!

Sip of EJ (egg juice)

Saute!

Gave the chicken a good head start on the onions. And plenty of oil because this pan is still trouble. But its such a good shape!

Fry the ingredients!

We dump in the stock and reduce that for a bit and then the eggs. Though this isnt exactly going to hold together like an omelette or anything, I kinda feel like this honestly is looking a bit more fetching than the last recipe somehow? Looks more like a thing I did on purpose?

Finish!

****

Really nice! Despite it being much simpler, I kinda like it better than the previous one. Seems more like there's a point to bathing it in stock and egg when its chopped chicken. And it all mixes up nicely. It could... though... it could use just a touch of like... salt, pepper, chilli sauce, or something. Just seems a bit underdressed.
